Great photo! I remember Bill telling me about it. That was the same night that a giant spruce tree crashed across our driveway, just missing our house! Something must have been going on that night! Thanks.
It's one of my big fears that a bookcase will flatten me one of these days. Getting rid of books is the hardest part of clearing clutter and getting organized. I've given away carloads to the local library for book sales. Books, at least can be packed into foot-cube (12" all around) boxes, labeled, and stacked neatly. But it doesn't help with getting rid of them. I keep accumulating stuff every time anybody moves. Fighting entropy and clutter is hard work.
Wow Cathy! I recently got help attaching a (smaller) bookshelf to my wall against the interests of roving two felines. Two bolts. Maybe it should have been four. Yes to an uneventful New Years eve!
Adwoa, my fear is that we'll have to move before all the stuff goes "somewhere else." You remember this house? It has 73 steps counting inside and out. You have to be pretty mobile to live here. The clock is ticking.
I recently retired from teaching after more than 20 years. I maintained a separate house in Wyoming for work from my family in Colorado. I moved back to the house in Colorado this fall, but there was very little room left for me. My stuff is all in storage while we figure out a way to fit me in. My husband and my brother need to downsize...but it is not happening very fast. All I want to do is shed stuff. I am so in the 'get rid of it mode'. How do I convince my family to do the same? Ha! Humor is key...

Gail, I remember you mentioning the tree! Hope tonight is better for all of us, though who knows what the malicious spirits of 2021 will be up to.

Moving to a new location helps…but I am still deciding what needs to go somewhere else 😀

I now remember..lots of stairs!! That does mean you need a plan. We have less steps in our current home..and our bedroom is on the ground floor.
I remember that And my comments about my downsizing Books are done .. I am STILL lacking the pictures
